Lantau International School (L.I.S.) — A Unique Learning Environment since 1995

L.I.S. was established in 1995 to provide a high-quality international education in a green learning environment on South Lantau. It started off as a small, parent-led school with a handful of children in Tong Fuk, and now has over 150 students over three low-rise campuses. We remain a family business with traditional values.

• Learning: We offer a high-quality, traditional education with a focus on the core subjects — reading, writing, maths and science — while nurturing curiosity with geography, history, sports, art and computing/coding classes too.
• Inclusivity: We stand for tolerance and respect, and are proud to have students from over 30 nationalities. We also take a firm stance against bullying.
• Support: We ensure that learning is accessible and engaging, and in close partnership with families, we do our utmost to adapt to each student’s needs. We also believe that education should be affordable and have no debentures or hidden fees. We are proud to have some of the lowest international school fees in Hong Kong and provide all learning materials free of charge.

A Learning Environment that Works

With a maximum class size of 24 students, we ensure individual attention and effective teaching. Homework is assigned thoughtfully to reinforce learning, with daily reading as a key focus, supporting long-term academic success.

Our campus libraries house over 5,000 books, and while classrooms are equipped with interactive whiteboards, computers and robots (available from Primary 4 onwards), we prioritize hands-on, paper-based learning, especially in the early years to develop fine motor skills, focus and memory.

All campuses are easily accessible via school buses and public transport.
